At the Academy of Entrepreneurs, we believe that students learn best when they learn from the best. That’s why our November workshops were led by the extraordinary Eli Thai — one of Australia’s rising AI leaders and Head of AI at Headstart Lab. With expertise in product design, machine learning, computer
vision, and startup innovation, Eli brought the kind of energy, clarity, and real-world experience that leaves students mind-blown.
As AI becomes the most transformative technology of our generation, it’s essential that young people learn not just how to use it — but how to build, question, and lead with it. That’s exactly what our Grade 9 students experienced during our November 2 and 4 workshops.

What Students Learned
Introduction to AI & Large Language Models (LLMs) Students explored how tools like ChatGPT work, why LLMs are transforming industries, and how AI is reshaping the future. For many, it was their first time truly understanding how AI “thinks.”
Build-Your-Own Supervised Machine Learning Model Yes — Grade 9 students built their own ML model! With step-by-step guidance, they trained a simple supervised model and saw how data creates predictions.
Advanced Prompting Skills Students learned professional prompting frameworks and advanced techniques to unlock high-quality outputs from AI — skills used by top innovators and creators.
Risks & Limitations of AI We dove deep into biases, hallucinations, and ethical considerations to help students develop responsible and critical AI thinking.
Ethical Hacking: Prompt Injection Simulation This was a favourite! Students learned how hackers manipulate AI systems and practiced designing safer prompts and systems.
Future Innovators in the Making
By the end of both workshops, our Grade 9 students weren’t simply using AI — they were experimenting, questioning, building, and thinking like young innovators and entrepreneurs.
