From Passion to Impact: AE Inspires Young Entrepreneurs at Mawar Sharon School!

Academy of Entrepreneurs

After an incredible business trip to Makassar, the Academy of Entrepreneurs team touched down in Surabaya, ready to continue our mission of empowering young changemakers. And what better way to kick off this exciting new chapter than with a high-energy masterclass at Mawar Sharon School?

From the moment we arrived, the enthusiasm was electric—100+ students eager to learn, innovate, and turn their dreams into reality. But this wasn’t just another class. It was a game-changing session on how to transform hobbies into businesses that create impact!

💡 The Big Idea: Your Passion Can Change the World

AE’s CEO, Paula Mills, started the session with a thought-provoking question:

"What if you could turn what you love into a business that solves real-world problems?"

At first, students saw hobbies as just fun activities—drawing, gaming, music, sports, or baking. But as the discussion unfolded, they realized that their passions could align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), transforming them into purpose-driven businesses!

Some eye-opening examples included:

🎨 Love art? Create eco-friendly designs to reduce waste (SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production)

🎮 Passionate about gaming? Teach coding to kids in underserved communities (SDG 4: Quality Education)

👩‍🍳 Enjoy cooking? Launch a healthy food movement in your school (SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being)

🚀 Creativity in Action: Turning Hobbies into Impactful Businesses

Students took on an exciting challenge: connect their hobbies to an SDG and develop a business idea that makes money while making a difference.

As the brainstorming session took off, the room buzzed with energy and creativity! Some of the most inspiring ideas included:

  • A photography enthusiast using visual storytelling to raise awareness about plastic pollution (SDG 14: Life Below Water)

  • A group of sports lovers planning fitness events to promote mental and physical health (SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being)

  • A young musician teaching underprivileged children how to play instruments, giving them confidence and new opportunities (SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities)

Every idea proved that when young entrepreneurs think outside the box, they create real change.

🔥 The Lightbulb Moment: Making an Impact While Earning Money

As students pitched their ideas, Paula shared inspiring stories of young entrepreneurs who started just like them—turning their hobbies into businesses that impact thousands of lives.

By the end of the session, something was crystal clear:

🚀 They weren’t just students anymore—they were future entrepreneurs, changemakers, and leaders!

Surabaya’s Future Entrepreneurs Are Ready!

The passion, creativity, and innovation we saw at Mawar Sharon School were nothing short of inspiring. These students now have the tools, mindset, and confidence to start their own impact-driven businesses, proving that:

  • 💡 Hobbies aren’t just for fun—they can shape the future.

  • 🌍 Entrepreneurship isn’t just about money—it’s about making the world better.

  • 🔥 Small ideas today can spark world-changing movements tomorrow.

AE is beyond excited to have launched our Surabaya journey at Mawar Sharon School, and we can’t wait to see what these young changemakers create next!
