At the Academy of Entrepreneurs, we are passionate about turning ideas into impact and in September 2025, we proudly launched an inspiring new initiative that embodies that vision.

For the first time, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) in Medan partnered with the Academy of Entrepreneurs to host the Greenpreneurship Training of Trainers (ToT) program. Officially launched on September 15, 2025, this collaboration is a major step toward strengthening sustainable entrepreneurship education in Indonesia.
Empowering Educators through Greenpreneurship
The Greenpreneurship ToT program runs throughout September and November, featuring five interactive online training sessions held via Google Meet.
This exclusive program is designed to empower Indonesian educators with practical tools, strategies, and insights to integrate green entrepreneurship and eco-innovation into their teaching.
By combining entrepreneurship and sustainability, AE and USU aim to prepare lecturers to guide students in transforming local challenges into green business opportunities that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The program was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Vice Rector for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation at USU.
“We hope this program provides meaningful insights for our lecturers to build sustainable and socially impactful enterprises,” said Prof. Poppy during her opening remarks.
The First Session: Building a Green Mindset
The inaugural session, titled “Green Mindset and Local Challenges,” explored the core principles of greenpreneurship, what it means to be a green entrepreneur, how sustainable business models work globally, and how to address local environmental and social challenges with practical, scalable solutions.
Through discussions and case studies, participants discovered how to design ventures that balance profit, people, and the planet, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset that drives both innovation and sustainability.
The enthusiasm and curiosity from USU’s lecturers reflected Indonesia’s growing movement toward eco-conscious entrepreneurship, a strong sign that the future of business in Indonesia is both green and impactful.
Supported by the Australian Government: Greenpreneurship EcoBoss
The program is part of the Greenpreneurship EcoBoss initiative, proudly funded by the DEFAT (Australian Government) through the Australia–Indonesia Institute 2025 Grant Round.
The EcoBoss Program empowers Indonesian students, educators, and entrepreneurs to develop purpose-driven ventures that promote sustainability, innovation, and social impact.
This collaboration between AE and USU not only builds stronger academic and cultural ties between Australia and Indonesia, but also inspires a new generation of changemakers who are ready to lead the transition toward a greener, more inclusive economy.
A Shared Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation
At the Academy of Entrepreneurs, our mission has always been to help students and educators #BossYourFuture, by learning how to create businesses that solve real-world problems and contribute positively to society.
The Greenpreneurship Training of Trainers program with USU represents a powerful example of how universities and entrepreneurial institutions can work together to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through education.
We are excited to continue this journey with USU and look forward to seeing the lasting impact of the ideas, projects, and innovations that will emerge from this collaboration.
